about.
How can the workspace (time-frame of 7-10 years) transform influenced by digitalization, artificial intelligence and robotics as well as the social and demographic changes? How can the negative effects of the status quo office be overcome and new human machine interfaces to effectively and creatively be used to solve the problems of tomorrow?
The aim of this master‘s thesis was the development of a product design concept within a future office scenario. The analysis of this concept will allow the project partner company LOGICDATA to identify which mechatronic components and systems should be developed to make these new products possible.
challenge.
In the first research focused part the status quo in the office environment was analyzed and the problems identified. With a broad view on mega-trends, the social and cultural change as well as work 4.0 it was possible to classify which of the social and technological trends are relevant and will be influencing a future office scenario. This analysis led to practical conclusions for the future workspace.
results.
In the ideation and concept development phase holistic ideas were generated. After choosing one of the concepts the design process with form development and 3D modeling alongside functional prototyping was started.
In this thesis it was found that the office market leaves room for new categories of products especially highly digital workstations which enable creative collaboration and focused work while being fully adaptive to the user’s ergonomic needs.
